TRACK TOWN GEOFILTER

TRACK TOWN GEOFILTER

Also done in my J460 course in the Spring of 2024, we had to create a Geolocation filter for a landmark in Eugene, OR for tourists to use during the USA Olympic Trials happening that summer!

For this project, I worked with one other person to draft 50 possible designs for a geolocation filter for two landmarks around Hayward Field and the University of Oregon. From those drafts, we narrowed it down to four of our favorites for each location. We were provided feedback from our classmates in class as well as conducted an anonymous vote to narrow down our options. Once we found one design we liked the most, we used Photoshop as well as Snapchat’s geofilter program to set a digital fence for where the filter would be displayed.

This project was extremely fun because I had never made a geolocation filter before (and they’re much harder to make than I thought)! Making 50 rough drafts also stretched my creativity and showed me that my first draft is not always the best and that a design takes time to come to fruition sometimes and that’s okay.
